Six former standout athletes, a notable coach and a community contributor will be inducted into the Wasco High Athletic Hall of Fame on March 25 at the Wasco Elks Lodge.

The athletes are Pat Mills, Richard "Dick" Permenter, Carl Smith, Otis Hailey, John Hale and Tim Durando. The coach is Jim Parker and the contributor is Barbara Lucas.

Mills, a 1953 Wasco High graduate, lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He was the quarterback of the 1952 Valley championship football team and later went on to play football and baseball at Bakersfield College and UC Santa Barbara. He spent 35 years in education as a teacher, coach, vice principal, principal and superintendent of the Taft Union High School District.

Permenter, a 1964 graduate, lettered in football, basketball and baseball and was MVP his senior year in all sports.
